2008 COURSE CALENDAR

 

 

ED 50 - Introduction to Light and Lighting– November 13, 2008

This one day introductory course is an excellent way to acquire lighting basics as well as update for those involved in the lighting field.

Time: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Location: MB Hydro, 820 Taylor Avenue
Cost: $30 (Students)

$100 (IES members)
$150 (Non-IES members)

To register, please fill in the registration form attached and return to Nazra Mian by fax (474-3823) or e-mail (nmian@hydro.mb.ca) by November 7, 2008.

 

ED 100 - Fundamentals of Light and Lighting – November 19, 2008

This is a 9 week course providing introductory instruction on lighting practices. It provides material on systems, equipment, calculation procedures and terminology. This course is ideal for those who have a basic awareness of lighting and professionals who want a thorough overview of the field. This course is offered once every two years and will be offered this year based on student interest. IES reserves the right to cancel due to lack of participation. Students will be notified once course offering is confirmed.

Start Date: November 19, Wednesdays (Tentative based on student demand)
Time: 6  to 9 p.m.
Location: MB Hydro, 820 Taylor Avenue
Cost: $150 (Students)

$299 (IES members)
$400 (Non-IES members)

ED 150 - IESNA Lighting Education, Intermediate Level

This is a 10 week course providing in depth instruction on lighting practices. It is currently the

most advanced course offered by IESNA. It is an extension of ED100 and provides material on systems, equipment, calculation procedures and terminology. This course is ideal for those who have a strong working knowledge of lighting and professionals who want a thorough overview of the field. This course is offered once every five years and will be offered this year based on student interest. IES reserves the right to cancel due to lack of participation. Students will be notified once course offering is confirmed.

Start Date: Winter 2008 (Tentative based on student demand)
Time: 6 to 9 p.m.
Location: MB Hydro, 820 Taylor Avenue
Cost: $150 (Students)
$299 (IES members)
$400 (Non-IES members)

VOLUNTEER POSITION

 

The Illuminating Engineering Society, Winnipeg Charter, is seeking a volunteer to accept the Board position of Program Executive. This is a volunteer position that actively searches for and arranges engagements with speakers and programs of interest for presentations at the Section’s monthly meetings. The Section’s Executive Board Members meet once a month for a breakfast meeting to co-ordinate our activities.
